22 October 2011 - Monte Carlo - The number of false starts at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu, Korea (27 Aug to 4 Sep) declined dramatically when compared to the average for the three global championships that took place immediately before the introduction of the current False Start Rule (162.7).

One week after being narrowly beaten in the 10,000m final the runner from Great Britain took the 5000 m World Championships gold, clocking 13:23.36.
